I've straddled a mild identity-crisis my entire life.

Being born in Germany, and growing up in South Africa, meant that I never quite felt like any one place was more home than the other. To my school friends, I was "the German"; to other Europeans, I was "the South African"—and I often found myself struggling to find a footing in either heritage.

The only thing that really brought me closer to a sense of belonging was language. I was raised speaking English and German, and studied isiXhosa, Afrikaans and Italian over my school career. Languages became my bridge to people, connection, and storytelling that would eventually pave the way for my career today. Through language, I found an obsession with people, and it helped me better understand not just the world around me, but myself and where I belong.

My degree in Journalism, Communication Design, Linguistics, and Psychology has given me an analytical foundation for my visual storytelling and design; and my experience in illustration, art, theatre, events, and writing have given me the tools to help other people express their stories in a way that resonates with the right people.
